As the Head of Global Cloud, your role is to oversee and lead the strategic direction and operations of the cloud computing services for your organization on a global scale. Your responsibilities would typically include:
- Strategy Development: Develop a comprehensive cloud strategy aligned with the overall business objectives, considering factors such as scalability, security, cost optimization, and innovation.
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Define and maintain the global cloud infrastructure, including managing cloud service providers, architecting cloud solutions, and ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.
- Team Leadership: Build, lead and motivate a team of cloud architects, engineers, and administrators. Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance management to ensure the team's success.
- Cloud Governance and Compliance: Establish governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, data privacy laws, and internal standards. Monitor and mitigate risks associated with cloud operations.
- Cost Optimization: Implement cost-effective strategies for cloud resource utilization, optimization, and budgeting. Continuously monitor and analyze cloud spending, identify cost-saving opportunities, and make recommendations to optimize cloud expenditure.
- Cloud Security: Collaborate with security teams to develop and enforce cloud security policies, implement robust security controls, conduct security audits, and ensure data protection and privacy in the cloud environment.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with cloud service providers, negotiate contracts and service-level agreements (SLAs), and monitor vendor performance to ensure the delivery of high-quality cloud services.
- Innovation and Emerging Technologies: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in cloud technologies and industry trends. Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and serverless computing, to drive innovation and improve business outcomes.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, finance, and business units, to understand their requirements, align cloud services with their needs, and provide effective solutions.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the performance and effectiveness of cloud services. Generate regular reports and dashboards to communicate the status, progress, and impact of cloud initiatives to senior management and stakeholders.

- Leadership and Management: Strong leadership skills are essential to inspire and guide your team. You should have experience in building and managing high-performing teams, providing mentorship, and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Strategic Thinking: The ability to think strategically and align cloud initiatives with overall business goals is vital. You should have a deep understanding of how cloud technologies can drive business value, improve operational efficiency, and enable innovation.
- Communication and Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills are essential for collaborating with various stakeholders, including senior executives, IT teams, and business units. You should be able to clearly articulate complex cloud concepts and strategies and influence decision-making.
- Problem Solving and Decision Making: The ability to analyze complex problems, make informed decisions, and drive solutions is critical. You should be adept at identifying opportunities for improvement, mitigating risks, and adapting to changing business needs in a fast-paced cloud environment.
- Continuous Learning: Given the rapidly evolving nature of cloud technologies, a passion for continuous learning and staying updated with the latest trends and advancements is important. This includes attending conferences, participating in relevant forums, and pursuing certifications to enhance your expertise.
