Purpose of the Role
The purpose of this role is to support the global expansion of Software Asset Management (SAM) by ensuring transparent control and alignment with international standards. It contributes to integrating country organizations into a unified operating model, enabling efficient license management, and supporting cost optimization, risk reduction, and compliance.
Your contribution to achieving global safety, security, and sustainability:
- SAM Strategy & Governance - work actively on and maintain the global SAM strategy, policies, and standards. Ensure alignment with IT, Procurement, Finance, and Security.
- License Compliance & Audit Readiness - monitor license compliance across all major software vendors and maintain audit‑ready documentation. Lead vendor audits and coordinate remediation actions.
- Cost Optimization & Demand Management - identify cost‑saving opportunities through usage optimization, reharvesting, and contract consolidation. Provide spend forecasts and savings analyses to management.
- Tooling, Data & Automation - manage SAM tools, discovery systems, and data quality across all inventories and entitlements. Automate reporting and reconciliation processes.
- Vendor & Contract Lifecycle Management - support renewals, true‑ups, and negotiations with expert license guidance. Maintain accurate entitlement and contract repositories.
- Process Ownership & Stakeholder Enablement - own end‑to‑end SAM processes and ensure clear governance and approval workflows. Train stakeholders and ensure adherence to standards.
- Transparency, Reporting & KPIs - deliver executive dashboards for compliance, spend, risks, and optimization potential. Track and steer SAM performance through defined KPIs.

- Owning skills at least 7+ years’ work experience in Software Asset Management or License Management with multi vendor expertise, experience leading SAM processes in enterprise environments, strong stakeholder communication and problem solving mindset
- Deep understanding of SAM frameworks, policies, and audit ready process design, proven ability to create and maintain controlled operating models
- Strong knowledge of licensing metrics, renewal cycles, cloud subscriptions, and contractual risks, able to build cost models and support negotiations
- Hands on experience with SAM/discovery tools and data quality management, skilled in integrating SAM data into CMDB/ITSM or BI platforms
- Ability to work closely with IT, Procurement, Finance, Security, and product owners. Strong communication skills with business and technical teams
- Completed studies in computer science, business informatics, industrial engineering or a comparable professional qualification
- Fluent English required; additional languages like German are a plus
